For English speakers only. Sorry, Spanish fellows!
At last, the direct sequel to last year's Mayday has arrived. I have got bad news and good news. The bad news is that I could not pay my father a visit on every weekend of this month; the second half of my family is ill, and this is even worse for him, considering his current health problem. The good news is that I could visit them on the first two weekends before that started to happen, especially for my little brother Nacho's 3rd birthday, which has been even better than the last one.
It was crazy. On one single day, it was his birthday, May Day and Mother's Day here.
Restrictions due to the current pandemic are being lessened, and we no longer have to wear masks everywhere. This means that more relatives of mine got the chance to see Nacho grow older. The witnesses were my paternal grandmother (my paternal grandfather was not feeling good and chose to stay at home), some of my uncles and aunts, and some of my cousins.
You can see almost all of my present cousins here. From left to right: me, Nacho, and my cousins Jesús and Daniel.
We had a lot of fun together. We talked, we played, we ate, we drank... Well, what is usually done on a party. The women, including my big sister Teresa and my stepmother Zenia, were the cooks there.
The next weekend, my father, Nacho and I went on one of our trips... without Zenia, unfortunately. We went to the Carril de la Vía (an old track, I believe), but we did not last for long, again, due to my father's health problem and sensitive skin. We just walked a fair amount of metres to end up enjoying the view from up in the mountains.
Coincidentally, we got this picture taken by an English speaker! Once again, sorry, Spanish fellows! Life is full of coincidences!
Another coincidence... One of the balloons from the following picture is red, like the ones from the party...
Who could say "no" to balloons? I love them, especially if they are filled with water! But, of course, they are important when it comes to birthday parties. Now, if only I could fly with them like the following characters...
Keri Johnson, creator of the British webcomic "Zookie the Dragon", returns with yet another wonderful piece of artwork for my 22nd birthday. When I said that her work had become an essential part of my life at first sight, I was not wrong. For quite some time, I had been interested in an old video game series (as some of you may know, I also happen to like old things), yet not enough to get to play it straight away. Zookie, however, helped me make the right decision, since he shares a trait with the titular character.
"Croc" is short for "crocodile", but it is also the name of the protagonist of the series. Both he and Zookie were based on Yoshi, a character from the "Super Mario" franchise; this was what made me play his games. He got two main games and three mobile games, and that was it for him. His main games were not good enough for everyone (I do not know exactly how well his mobile games did), though he did achieve a following thanks to his cute appearance and colourful world, more facts that he and Zookie have in common, because...
...did I mention that Croc was raised by furballs? That is right, he was brought up by a race of furry creatures known as the Gobbos, to the point that being their saviour was his fate, no matter if he eventually met his biological family in his second game, "Croc 2". His history can be summed up in the title of his first game, "Croc: Legend of the Gobbos".
This year is his 25th anniversary, so I had to take advantage of that by encouraging Keri to go back to the past (she knows him, too) and draw my persona's (Thomas "Tommy" Catson) best friend Jeffrey Preston, an anthropomorphic dog, meeting him by floating up in the air with a balloon like the crocodile does in some of his games. The night background represents his hiatus, and his fans (including me, of course) are waiting for it to end as soon as possible, after so many years without him.
And so, the adventure returns... for those who believe in dragons. Bring back Croc!

Hi, Keri. You know I cannot forget about my little fellow Poncho, who reached the two digits (i. e. he turned 10 years old) on the same day as Nacho, so this is for you: a picture of him in his early years. He first lived in one of Teresa's old homes.
And this has been this year's May. There was not as much to tell as last year, but the special events made up for the lack of content.
That is all!
